I've had my eye on the jordao.ca website for awhile now, always interested to see what kind of music/gallery combo Raquel Fors is putting together, even though I haven't managed to get to one of their events yet. I'm hoping that will all change this weekend when they've got Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra, the latin sounding gypsy/ska/folk/roots/indie band from Victoria playing to a backdrop of Raquel's latest photo exhibition, To The Bone. The gallery is located in the industrial area of upper Gibsons, not exactly the most attractive part of town, but if they can capitalize on the urban, grungy feel then this could be the coolest art + music series to hit the Coast in 2011.
