Valentines is NOT my thing. I've stated it before. But it seems apparent that this neck of the woods is Valentines crazy... so singles be warned.
Thankfully some very creative people have come up with some very cool ways of celebrating the day if it must indeed be celebrated. There's the People's Prom in Powell River, Jazz on Gambier Island, the Autonomy of Love exhibition at Goldmoss Studios and Dr Fun and the Painkillers both happening in Roberts Creek.
And one gal who's doing her best to sexy up the Coast is Raquel Fors who's at it again tonight from 6pm when she hosts Red All Over at the Jordao Studio. SPACE (Society for Preservation of Arts Culure and Environment) is holding a Valentine's fundraiser in three different spaces with three distinct vibes featuring burlesque, a fashion show and a naughty night market. Ooo la la. Plus there are food vendors and a chocolate fountain to boot!
The best thing is that the money raised tonight goes towards upgrading SPACE's community gardens for future Summer night markets and an upper Gibsons Music Festival. Finally! So cool - I'm there!
